A letter to you
Dear (insert your name),
Please pause for a moment and with a deep breath see how far you've come! Forget the outside world and remember all of that pain you went through. If you as the person who went through them don't accept and validate your own experiences, then the world is waiting to construte it's own narrative for you(and not necessarily a pleasant version of it).
It's interesting how we all want to hear that we are not alone in this. It's time to practice your voice, compose your own lyrics and sing from your heart the song you always wanted to hear. Once you begin, you'll hear supportive voices vibrating back to join you in your choir.
It's not too late. It's never too late to express to yourself and to others.
To express your feelings, desires, fears, vulnerabilities and insecurities. To own up and acknowledge their existence. Acceptance can take a while but it's alright. Just take full claim of all that is you. Of all those parts that make you you. Keep asking yourself, "what's the worst that could happen?"
Take a peek from behind your high stoned walls. Maybe slowly begin to carve windows in them too.
Eventually you'll get the strength to work a door and give yourself the permission to finally step out of the dungeons that you learned to settle in. It's time to unlearn and believe in the warmth of sunlight. Take that chance. Invite people in and listen.
Hear their story and ask them to collaborate in your songs.
It will soon bloom into an album and you will surprisingly even want to take it a step further and perform them traveling around.
It's mind-blowing to think of all the wonderful things that can be! Like I began this letter, it's never too late for anything. Take those baby steps from wherever you are at.
Everyday ask yourself if you're moving in the right direction with the right company.
Consciously and consistently remind yourself of the things that spark joy and passion in you. Be there for yourself unapologetically with relentless and compassionate understanding!
With lots of love
